On the hype around #DataScience
Here is my latest twitter storm about the death of Data Science..
Enjoy!
"The sexiest job of the 21st century" they said. Every time journalists and uninformed idiots hit the like button for a new buzz word, the whole domain falls victim of its own success.

I have been doing what I do for a while now. When I was a student, #BusinessIntelligence was the hot thing out there. We even had a club in my school dedicated to this topic ( I never liked the idea, b/c those involved were a bunch of idiots with -50 IQ)

Most companies suffer from the old inefficient practices and haven't successfully made the transition. But let's not focus on that.

After that, #BigData started to become hot. I remember myself going through the shittiest tutorials and documentation to ⬇️
I now know not to trust/ follow an online tutorial without checking who made it. Anyway, #BigData was hot, and then it wasn't. Why, well because journalists and bloggers found a new buzz word(s).

⬇️
So every CTO out there wanted to get some #bigdata. and they got it. Software companies sold their tools, consulting firms sold their services and now that CTO needs to hire someone to maintain it.

Not important.
⬇️
However, with the same way 7 with 1000X the hype, #datascience started going up around the same time. It wasn't bad because I thought to myself, it's an opportunity to educated the corporate world about the importance of data ⬇️

So, in the same way, New buzz word => Sales and marketing => competition => consulting => tools => job offers.
— Wajdi 📈 (@wajdi_bs) April 25, 2021
Companies ran to hire data scientists. And the same schmucks that fell before, thought, "well it's just software.. we can do it" ⬇️
New blogs were born, online courses, Gurus and evangelists, enthusiasts and advocates. All adjectives were associated with data science. But none advocated for the ONE thing that mattered . ⬇️

yeah homeboy... MATH.

For the rest of the Twitter Storm... I invite you to check it out.. on Twitter !
#DataScience is dead. It seems like the same way #BusinessIntelligence has faded as a buzz word for corporate reporting and how #BigData has also faded out, DS is going through the same path.

I have much to say about this, especially during this period of market saturation
