A year's worth of reflexion
Writing on this blog has consistently served as a means to regain focus, delve deeply into intriguing topics, and hone the organization of my thoughts and ideas.
Over the years, I've taken several breaks from blogging to concentrate on personal development, acquire new knowledge, and, more recently, dedicate all my time to focus on new professional endeavors.
On a few occasions, I have included in my posts brief mentions of current pursuits that pertain to my professional life. Some were links to courses I was teaching, while others addressed less technical and more business-oriented topics.
My most recent post was published a year and four months ago.
In the meantime, I have accumulated around 14 drafts that never reached completion. Some topics proved to be rabbit holes, requiring extensive research to produce a worthy post. Others were merely distractions that I ultimately set aside.
Over the past 16 months, I have reflected on the necessity, value, and purpose of writing on the blog. To be honest, I no longer had the same amount of time as I used to, and I didn't allocate sufficient time to finish drafts on timely topics.
However, contemplating my goals and their value, I realized that I needed to focus on these two central points, rather than overthinking the topics themselves.
Reflecting on it now, the notion of "relevancy" of certain topics made writing about them feel akin to an immediate response to what I was reading across the internet, where I felt the need to articulate my thoughts to bring peace to an ever-active mind.
Without further ado,(I've already wrote a long introduction to this), I wanted to put in writing, the goals I want my blogging experience to be focused on.
So here is a somehow mission statement of why I am writing on this blog:
- Regain focus: Writing forces me to focus on the topic at hand and push away distractions.
- Stimulate curiosity: Limiting myself to "my domain" related topic was not the best decision, from now on i will explore topics that are of personal interest, my curiosity would lead me to learn new ideas.
- Share my thoughts: this is self-explanatory
- Write to my satisfaction: I don't necessarily need to explain this also.
- Have a personal archive of my thoughts: I think it's a window of my mind and thoughts, open and unfiltered, for me, and for the world.
I am pinning this post to read it regularly, every time I come to create a new draft. this will serve me immensely.
Will it work?
The only way to know for sure, is when the standard deviation of time passed between posts is reduced, to reach a limit of.... 1 month, 15 days, 7 days...
Peace!
